Middle Income
 

Based on the income levels set out by the World Economic Forum (WEF) in its Global Competitiveness Report. However, the groupings are slightly different due to the numbers of economies covered. For GEM, the low income group contains both those classified as low income and lower middle by WEF, and the middle income group has those that WEF groups as upper middle. High income is the same for both GEM and WEF.

  • The GEM National Report for Lebanon for 2018 confirms Lebanon’s position as one of the world’s most entrepreneurial countries, with nearly one in four adults starting or running a new business, the fourth highest level of the 48 countries participating in the 2018 GEM Adult Population Survey (APS). In this report, we look at a range of perceptual and demographic variables that may influence that level of entrepreneurial activity while comparing this years results with those of previous years and other MENA countries.
