Summary: GEM 2000 added 11 new countries to the 10 studied in 1999: Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, India, Ireland, South Korea, Norway, Singapore, Spain and Sweden. GEM 2000 also employed larger samples in each country, enhanced research methods and added an important new dimension — an assessment of the role of venture capital in each country.
