Joining the GEM consortium
Those interested in forming a GEM National Team should contact the Project and National Teams Manager, Mick Hancock.
The key requirement for any national team is that it should be led by a local university (or other equivalent academic/ research institution of high standing; operating on a 'not for profit' basis). The leading organisation may then, at its own discretion, involve other organisations within the country as it wishes.
If you believe that your organisation falls into the above category it may (at the discretion of the Board) be possible for you to join the consortium.
In order to make a formal application to join the GEM consortium, an official letter of application must be sent to the Board of The Global Entrepreneurship Research Association (GERA). This should be sent through the GEM Project Administrator, Chris Aylett. There is no standard format for the letter of application, but it should contain confirmation that your team has the support of your organisation and that it has secured the necessary funding to participate in a complete annual cycle of the project.
The application should also contain the CVs and contact details of all team members (this can all be sent electronically). Upon receipt of this letter and information, the Board will consider your application to join the consortium. Apart from the need to have a suitably qualified academic team and finance in place, the Board will also give consideration to, among other things, the academic independence enjoyed by the proposed team.
The 2010 Coordination Fee is 7,500 GBP.
